beliefs

The entire Bible is the eternal and infallible Word of God, written by men who were moved by the Holy Spirit, and which describes God ’s truth about Himself and His relationship with His creation. The Bible is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living.  Because it is inspired by God, it is absolutely true without any error II Timothy 3:16, 2 Peter 1:20, 21; II Timothy 1:13; Psalm 119:105, 160, 12:6; Proverbs 30:5

God is the creator and ruler of the universe.  He exists eternally in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.  These three are co-equal and are one God. Genesis 1: 1, 26, 27; 3:22; Psalm 90:2; Matthew 28:19; I Peter 1:2; II Corinthians 13:14, I John5:7 Psalm 9:20

Man is made in the image of God, to be like Him in character. He is the supreme object of God’s creation.  Although man has tremendous potential for good, he sporadically falls into sin and transgresses against God.  Sin distances and separates man from God. Genesis 1:27; Psalm 8:3-6; Isaiah 53:6a; Romans 3:23; Isaiah 59:1,2.

Men have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God, and that without the shedding of blood, there is no remission of sin.  Jesus Christ came to the world and ultimately shed his precious blood and through Him we are forgiven of our sins. Leviticus 17:11, Romans 3:23

Jesus Christ descended into the place of the dead, and was resurrected on the third day to eternal life; to demonstrate His power over sin and death, and has ascended to heaven to sit at the right hand of the Father to intercede on our behalf.  Jesus Christ therefore possesses the keys to life and death. Matthew 12:40, Matthew 26:64, Luke 4:18, Acts 13:33-34, Hebrews 7:25

Man was initially created to live forever.  He will either exist eternally separated from God because of sin; or in union with God through His forgiveness and salvation.  To be eternally separated from God is hell.  To be eternally in union with Him is eternal life.  Heaven and hell are places of eternal existence.  John 3:16, John 2:25; John 5:11-13; Romans 6:23; Revelation 20:15; IJohn5:11-12; Matthew 25:31-46

Jesus Christ is the only son of God and He is co-equal with God the Father, and God the Holy Ghost. Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all men by dying on a cross.  Precisely three days later, Jesus Christ rose from the dead to reveal His power over sin and death.  He ascended into heaven’s glory and will return again to earth to reign as King of Kings, Lord of Lords, and the Eternal King of glory.

Matthew 1:22,23, Isaiah 9:6; John 1-5, 14: 10-30; Hebrews 4: 14,15; I Corinthians 15:3,4; Romans 1:3,4; Acts 1:9-11; I Timothy 6:14-15; Titus 2:13

The baptism and indwelling of the Holy Spirit are paramount in a Christian’s life. Matthew 3:11, John 14:17

The power of the Holy Spirit will change us into a new creation in Christ, and that His perfect works in us will be completed so that we will see His face and become just like Him. II Corinthians 5:17, I John 3:2

The gifts of the Holy Spirit are quite essential in a Christian’s life. Joel 2:28, I Corinthians 12:4-11, Hebrews 2:4, II Peter 1:21

The Fruit of the Spirit and the demonstration of our faith through the work of God’s Spirit in us, so that the world would see our good works and glorify God in heaven.  Matthew 5:16, Galatians 5:22, Hebrews 6:11

The Great Commission given by Jesus encourages man to go into the nations to make disciples of all people, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Matthew 28:19-20

Salvation is a gift from God to man.  Man can never make up for his sin by self-improvement or good works.  Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God’s offer of forgiveness, can man be saved from sin’s penalty.  Eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus Christ into his life by faith.  Romans 6:23, Ephesians 2:8,9; John 14:6, 1:12; Titus 3:5; Galatians 3:26; Romans 5:1

Because God gives man eternal life through Jesus Christ, the believer is secure in salvation for eternity.   Salvation is maintained by the grace and power of God, not by the self-efforts of the Christian.  It is the grace and keeping power of God that gives security.  John 10:29; II Timothy 1:12; Hebrews7:25, 10:10, 14; I Peter 1:3-5

The Holy Spirit is equal with the Father and Jesus Christ, the Son, as God.  He is present in the world to make men aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He equally lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation.  He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. The Christian seeks to live daily under His control.  I John 5:7, II Corinthians 3:17, John 16: 7-13, 14:16.17; Acts 1:8; I Corinthians 2:12, 3:16; Ephesians 1:13; Galatians 5:25; Ephesians 5:1

Christians, being the Children of God, will rule and reign with Christ as kings and priests over the nations of the earth.  There will be the second resurrection and the great white throne of judgment at the end of the millennial reign.  Also, there will be a new heaven and new earth, and for the New Jerusalem to come down from heaven for all eternity. Revelation 20:6, Revelation 20:11; Revelation 21:1-2

This God is a true God and His love for man is emphatically unquestionable.  In Him there is fountain of love and it was the same love that compelled Him to give the world the very best: His precious Son, Jesus Christ, the Light of the World. Indeed, God is a good God, and in Him there is no darkness but light.  Through this light, man’s paths are illuminated to enable him to navigate without entering into darkness and/or a destructive pathway. Mark 10:18, John 1:14, 1 John 1:5, I John 4:8, I John 4:16

The imminent return of Jesus Christ is definite. Although none is capable of predicting the time or the season, nonetheless; His impending return is indisputable and all eyes will see Him as He descends from His glorious celestial home in heaven with the Archangel.  Matthew 24:40-41, I Thessalonians 4:16-17
